Horisont Energi is a Norwegian clean energy company with international ambitions. We work to contribute to the necessary energy transition the world needs, building end-to-end CCS value chains and a global scale clean ammonia plant.

With strong ambitions and a dedicated team we continue on our mission towards the net zero future. The need for urgency is larger than ever before in tackling the ongoing climate crisis.   • Leiv Kallestad

    CEO & CFO

    Leiv is an experienced business executive who has previously worked on commercialisation and scale-up of energy related start-ups. Having a long-range experience from the petroleum business, Leiv joined the Horisont Energi team to be a part of the energy transition and to use his extensive business development competencies to further strengthen the company. With solid experience from financing and M&A’s, Leiv will mainly focus on positioning Horisont Energi for further growth with robust operations internally.

  • Brita Holstad

    Chief Commercial Officer

    Coming from a long career in the upstream energy business, Brita has a strong technical and management background from major oil companies as well as oil & gas start-ups. She started her career in Elf Aquitaine and worked in technical roles within different oil companies for 20 years before she took on leadership roles and became Managing Director for the American oil company Hess in Norway. She later joined the UK listed Cairn Energy as Regional Director for UK / Norway and member of their senior leadership team.Brita has served as non-executive director within oil & gas, renewable energy and gas infrastructure companies. She holds a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Geology and Reservoir Engineering from NTNU in Trondheim, Norway.

  • Rune Halseid

    Chief Operating Officer

    Rune is an experienced chemists and engineer and holds a PhD in Electrochemistry from NTNU in Trondheim, Norway. He has a wide range of technical- and project experience, as well as process- and system engineering experience. Before joining Horisont Energi, Rune worked in Norsk Hydro and Equinor for 25 years mainly with oil and gas projects, but also with magnesium production and renewable energy. For six years he contributed to corporate quality assurance processes for investment project decisions and as Equinor’s chief technical authority for upstream process technology. With Rune’s knowledge and experience, Horisont Energi is at the forefront of developing a clean ammonia and a CO2 infrastructure industry in Norway.

  • Lars Brenne

    Chief Technology Officer

    Lars holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU in Trondheim, Norway. He has 20 years of work experience within technology from the oil and gas industry.Before joining Horisont Energi, Lars had success with development of the Åsgard subsea compressor technology through 20-years of innovation. Creating value through knowledge, inventions and new digital solutions have also been key deliveries when Lars worked as specialist engineer in Equinor and leading engineer in Aker BP. Lars has a passion for innovative new solutions and is focused on work contributions that make a difference, for people, industry and the social community.
